Victim Says Ex Boasted Of Break-In

Law enforcement officials initiated an investigation during the weekend after a local resident reported her ex-boyfriend had boasted of burglarizing her home.

Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department report the victim was in an extremely agitated mental state when they arrived at her Dogwood Lane home Saturday evening.

She told them she had returned to her home to find that someone had broken in through a back window. Deputies found that the window was open and the curtains torn down.

The victim told deputies her ex-boyfriend had sent her several text messages, taunting her and boasting that he and his girlfriend had been inside her home. A neighbor reported seeing the man and his girlfriend at the home earlier that evening. He said once they arrived they went to the back of the home to enter.

Investigation into the crime is currently continuing by detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
